Mockingbird — A poem & a Drawing

Mockingbird —

bears the full Moon

on beclouded wings

and weaves together

borrowed phrases into song

He regards me

with pearly eye,

daring me to criticize

But I —

who carry not a crescent

and long to sing —

can only look on,

admiring.
